Flapdoodle is one of those words that makes me giggle, it’s fun to say and it has a certain rhythmic vibe to it. Used to describe all sorts of words that mean folly, hokeypokey, jazz, and silliness in general, I thought it was a perfect fit to use in the title of this piece. I’m not musically inclined but I do enjoy listening to a good bit of musical antics. While listening to one of my favorite local bands I could “see” the music floating around the room and, the energy as it wrapped itself around the band and wove through the crowd.

Done on an Ampersand scratchboard panel and sealed with an acrylic glaze to protect from unintended scratches. Framed in a simple black frame and wired to hang.
