13 x 27 charcoal and pastel compositional study in the Miss Muffet series. In my practice I usually do a bunch of studies to determine the narrative and composition for my paintings. In this one I was trying to decide the best way to pose the doll in the painting. Poor thing; I had her taped up to the wall in all sorts of ways; trying to get that sense of casualness before the shock of discovering that giant hairy beast above. I love being an artist!
